Betting on the Beast

With Rhett raising questions about revelation and end time theology, it may just be a coincidence. Or could it be more than that...

Am I the only one who noticed something very sinister in the news this week?

Helen Clarke went to the Auckland Cup this week and picked the winner. No, this is not some tirade against the PM having a gambling addition or modelling an inappropriate form of leisure to those living on the breadline in NZ.

Its darker even than that. Her winnings totalled exactly $66.60. Coincidence or sinister harbinger?

You be the judge.

Jonesboy, you're a worry and your blog is ugly - take a page out of Rhett's book and get some professional help.... ;o)

Jonathan....STOP BLOWING YOUR OWN HORN!!!!!

I'd prefer it if it stayed ugly. That way, my beautiful blog stands out from the pack.

I mean, I guess it always will, simply thanks to the quality of writing.

(Since I write a lot about faith, I consider this boasting in Christ).

A high quality post such as this on a key matter of concern for our nation - and all you can do is comment on Rhett's blog? What does a blogger have to do?

Thanks for the encouraging comment Jeanie.

Technically I wasn't blowing my own horn as I've never been paid for designing blog headers, so I can hardly call my self 'professional help'

And as for blowing my own horn - singular - what about the other one? I have a lovely pair of horns perched atop my head.....

Ahh nice. I feel like such a trendsetter right now.

I'm liking the font BJ... good to know you feel so strongly about the youth ministry that you are aligning yourself with it in such a public way. :)

Hi Rhett - I wasn't aware cession youth ministry had any public profile using MY font ;) Of course I don't mind if collision uses it, but I think I'll look like the trendsetter...

I just got sick of people using my blog to discuss your blog and Jonathan's un-professionalism (I think that's what he meant by the last comment).

There may be a total redesign coming anyway - this template was just for getting over to blogger2.

...INCIDENTALLY, THIS IS NOT THE NEW TEMPLATE, WELL PROBABLY NOT - THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T SAVE YOUR TEMPLATE WHILE FIDDLING WITH THE HTML...

Well I think it looks pretty. Very earthy. Funny that, I was describing you to one of my friends tonight (I said good things!) and I described you as "earthy". So it's suitable.

Earthy? My dictionary defines this word as:

1. Of, consisting of, or resembling earth: an earthy smell. So you're saying I smell?
2. Of or characteristic of this world; worldly. Alright so I am a shameless heathen!
3. Crude or off-color; indecent: an earthy joke. Did you hear the one about an actress, a bishop and a turnip...
4. Hearty or uninhibited; natural: an earthy enjoyment of life. This is not me - unless you're referring to my appetite. I have too many neuroses to be described as "uninhibited"
5. Unadorned and simple in style: an earthy homemade stew. Unadorned and simple? I'm stupid and I dress poorly?

Sigh.

This layout looks much better than the old one, and it loads quicker too.

That said, you might be able to recover your old template by Googling your blog, loading a cached page and setting your browser to show the html.
